The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) mandates that federal agencies integrate environmental consideration into the decision-making process of federal actions. NEPA requires Federal agencies to examine potential environmental impacts of proposed actions, analyze reasonable alternatives, coordinate with other agencies with environmental expertise or authority, and provide the public with the opportunity to be involved and provide feedback on these proposals.
The NEPA process results in one of three documents: a Categorical Exclusion, an Environmental Assessment, or an Environmental Impact Statement. E&A’s environmental scientists and engineers collaborate with local partners and lead agencies to ensure the right document is completed for each project.
