PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Concrete Supply, Inc. was remodeling and converting a portable concrete batch plant into a permanent facility near downtown Omaha. As part of this upgrade, the company installed a new 12,000-gallon double-walled diesel aboveground storage tank (AST) to fuel concrete trucks. During construction, it was determined that a Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan was required to ensure safe and compliant fuel storage.
E&A developed a PE-certified SPCC plan in accordance with 40 CFR §112, integrating seamlessly with the site’s civil layout. The plan incorporated multiple layers of spill control, including booms, curbing, inlet filters, a post-construction stormwater management pond, and an oil-water separator in the maintenance bay. Completed and certified by an E&A Professional Engineer in 2022, the SPCC plan empowers facility staff to effectively manage and mitigate the risks associated with storing large volumes of fuel.
