In 2016, E&A was hired by Flinn Paving Company to help update, redesign and prepare an Industrial Stormwater Program for their asphalt batch plant in Omaha, Nebraska, following an Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) industrial stormwater inspection. The EPA noted several deficiencies and issued a Notice of Violations. E&A was also hired to conduct the Quarterly Stormwater Inspections, Annual Comprehensive Inspections, Visual Assessments and Benchmark Stormwater Sampling to bring Flinn Paving Company in compliance with the EPA and their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit. E&A also consulted directly with the EPA on behalf of Flinn Paving Company.
Over the course of four years, E&A helped bring Flinn Paving Company into SWPPP compliance with the City of Omaha, the State of Nebraska and the Environmental Protection Agency. Flinn Paving Company implemented multiple Best Management Practices (BMPs), spill prevention and control measures and upgraded their facility’s industrial tanks, machinery and batching equipment. Due to their renewed efforts for SWPPP compliance, monitoring and administration, Flinn Paving Company was able to maintain compliance with federal, state and local agencies based on their SIC Code 2951: Asphalt Paving Mixtures and Blocks.
