Lincoln South Beltway

Lincoln, NE

The goal of this project was to delineate locations for potential borrow sites, waste sites and batch plants to be used by Hawkins Construction during the construction of the Lincoln South Beltway Project. Working with land owners on access agreements presented some challenges and prevented investigation of one site. The client also requested correspondence with the Nebraska State Historical Preservation Office as part of the site review.

Description

E&A was hired to investigate sites for use as potential borrow sites, waste sites and batch plants to be used by Hawkins Construction during the construction of the Lincoln South Beltway Project. E&A performed a desktop review of potential sites to determine if fieldwork would be cost effective for the client. E&A then delineated five parcels of land south of Lincoln, totaling 444 acres. Twenty acres of wetlands were found during the delineations, in addition to 3,600 feet of stream. Hawkins used the resulting wetlands reports to secure the bid for the Lincoln South Beltway; the largest transportation project in Nebraska.
