Project Description
E&A was hired to investigate sites for use as potential borrow sites, waste sites, and batch plants to be utilized by Hawkins Construction during the construction of the Lincoln South Beltway Project. E&A performed a desktop review of potential sites to determine if fieldwork would be cost-effective for the client. Additionally, the client requested that E&A coordinate with the Nebraska State Historical Preservation Office as part of the site review. E&A then delineated five parcels of land south of Lincoln, totaling 444 acres.
Working with landowners on access agreements presented some challenges ultimately prevented the investigation of one site. Twenty acres of wetlands were identified during the delineations, in addition to 3,600 feet of streams. Hawkins Construction used the resulting wetland delineation reports to secure the bid for the Lincoln South Beltway, the largest transportation project in Nebraska at the time.
