Project Description
Beadle Creek runs through the River Oaks subdivision in the southwestern portion of Omaha. E&A identified extensive bank erosion and sloughing throughout the development, which risks the failure of public infrastructure like sewer lines and loss of property along Beadle Creek. To assist in the design of bank stabilization measures, E&A’s environmental scientists performed a wetland delineation for the length of the project area. Additionally, E&A surveyed the ordinary high-water mark of Beadle Creek to help E&A’s engineer to reduce the amount of impacts to jurisdictional waters in the process of project design.
E&A’s wetland delineation identified approximately half an acre of riverine floodplain wetlands and 2,000 linear feet of jurisdictional waterways. This data will ensure a project which minimizes impacts to Nebraska’s waters and wetlands, while also meeting the needs of the River Oaks’ neighborhood.
