Project Description
E&A provides comprehensive annual Post-Construction Stormwater Management Plan (PCSMP) inspections for the Greater Omaha Packing facility, an approximately 20-acre operation in the heart of south Omaha’s meatpacking district. E&A was initially engaged to conduct inspections and prepare reports in compliance with City of Omaha requirements for the facility’s 2011 building expansion and has continued to provide these services for all subsequent additions. Greater Omaha Packing maintains a diverse suite of stormwater treatment features—including a BaySeparator, a bioretention basin, two StormTech systems, and multiple Bio Clean downspout filters. The BaySeparator and StormTechs deliver efficient underground treatment, while the bioretention basin manages stormwater at the surface to promote natural filtration. Bio Clean downspout filters provide targeted treatment of rooftop runoff, offering an ideal solution for industrial environments where space for traditional stormwater infrastructure is limited.
Note: As of July 1, 2008, the City of Omaha requires the installation of post-construction stormwater management features as part of new land development to comply with the requirements in their Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit. Post-construction stormwater management applies to land development that results in an increase of impervious surface area greater than 5,000 square feet.
