Project Description
In association with the Morgan Ridge residential development, a series of OPPD electrical power poles needed to be relocated to accommodate the construction of a turning lane off of N 156th Street. As a part of the power pole relocation, twelve trees needed to be removed during the MBTA primary nesting season.
E&A identified two active American Robin nests during the survey. E&A’s scientist coordinated with the on-site contractor to designate the area where work could begin, as well as to determine the expected fledging time for the active nests.
*Note: An avian nest survey must be conducted or supervised by a qualified biologist. Per Nebraska Game and Parks Commission recommendations, avian nest surveys should be completed no more than 5 days prior to the proposed tree or vegetation removal activities, but no more than 7 days can elapse under the MBTA. The MBTA is applicable year-round, but most migratory bird nesting in Nebraska takes place between April and September.
