The Yard

Omaha, NE

The Yard was an infill site in an older, urban section of Omaha seeing a resurgence of growth. It brought together multiple owners, architects, contractors and subcontractors to create buildings, parking lots, city streets and sidewalks; balancing their needs and schedules throughout design and construction.

I have worked with E&A on numerous projects over the last 20 years. They have provided design, planning and engineering services for small individual projects, large residential subdivisions and very complex mixed-use urban projects such as The Yard Development in North Downtown Omaha. I have always found their expertise, responsiveness and advice to be very professional and valued. I would highly recommend them for design, planning and engineering services.

Description

E&A redeveloped a parking lot into a three-building development and realigned 15th street (moving east) to line up with the existing, already improved 15th Street, south of Mike Fahey Street. The site is now home to Kiewit University, a three-story, 46,000 SF corporate training facility; a 5-story hotel and a 3-story apartment building with a lower level retail. On-street parking was added and utilities were relocated.
