E&A Learning Socials

In 2013, E&A began a series of events called “Learning Socials.” These events brought our clients together for a unique networking opportunity. E&A professionals, often joined by other subject matter experts, spoke on topics relevant to the audience.

Topics have included:

  • Post Construction Stormwater Planning
  • SIDs (Sanitary & Improvement Districts) & their Role in Land Development
  • Mixed-Use Development in Omaha
  • Understanding Floodplains & Floodways and their Impact on Development
  • Protect your Investment Dollars with Site Due Diligence
  • The Sarpy County Boom

E&A personnel were joined by professionals such as:

  • Selma Kessler, PE, CFM (Environmental Quality Division, City of Omaha Public Works)
  • John Kuehl (D.A. Davidson Companies)
  • Robert Wood (Kuehl Capital Corporation)
  • Todd Swirczek (City of Omaha Planner)
  • Dave Fanslau (Acting Assistant Director, City of Omaha)
  • Jed Moulton (Urban Design Manager, City of Omaha)
  • Lori Ann Laster, CFM (Stormwater Management Engineer, Papio-Missouri River NRD)
  • Dennis L. Wilson, PE, PhD (County Engineer, Sarpy County)
  • Andrew Rainbolt (Executive Director, Sarpy County Economic Development Corp.)
  • Denny Van Moorleghem (MOBA Board Member & Vice President of Regency Home)

Learning socials offer us the chance to share our knowledge with clients and partners so they have a better understanding of what their engineer is doing for them. Sharing it in an informal setting, over drinks and appetizers, has proven to be an ideal approach.
