We celebrated Larry’s 25+ years of service at E&A with a luncheon in our Omaha office on April 18th.
Larry has many interesting stories to share about his past from E&A and beyond.
“I started surveying in 1964 with Virginia Department of Highways. We had an eight man survey crew and everything was done with a chain and plumb bob. Topography maps were done with a tape and right angles off of a center line. Drafting was done by hand on a roll of paper.”
Larry started with E&A in September of 1992. He has worked in the Omaha office in the Survey, Platting and SID Maintenance Departments, and most recently managed the Record Drawing process.
“Things have really changed since 1964, now you only need two people or less. In the future, people may not even have to leave the office. With the use of robots and drones, anything is possible.”
Prior to E&A, he spent some time at UNO, OPPD, Carlson Systems and Automated Concepts as a Design Drafter. He received his Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Drafting & Design from Metro Community College.
Larry is also a retired Air Force Veteran who served our country for 23 years in many different roles, primarily as a weapons systems technician. During his military service, Larry was stationed in North Carolina, New York, Texas, California, Thailand, Guam and Korea.
The military and his spouse, Sandra, brought him from New York to Bellevue, NE where he and Sandra raised their children. Larry is a car enthusiast and avid reader and is looking forward to traveling and going to car shows in his retirement.
Good luck, Larry! And thank you for your dedication and loyalty to E&A.
