Intern Exploration #1

E&A’s 2018 Summer Interns had their first of two Exploration Series presentations on June 6th.

The day started off with breakfast and an icebreaker activity. Then five E&A employees shared their professional journeys, illustrating a typical day in their shoes and giving professional advice to guide the interns in building a reputable career.  After the Exploration Series ended, the interns and presenters went out for lunch at Tired Texan BBQ.

Following lunch, there was a demonstration on how drones are used by E&A’s surveying department for surveying, mapping, volume calculations and inspections. This presentation was a continuation of technology demonstrations. The first, on May 31st, focused on tools used within E&A’s civil engineering and land planning departments, such as Autodesk InfraWorks and Google SketchUp.

The interns ended their busy day by relaxing and networking with a E&A leaders and coworkers in a suite at the Stormchasers baseball game.
