Core Value Spotlight: Jan

Our Core Values in Action

January Winner: Leslie Fitzgerald, Executive Assistant

Every month, E&A’s leadership team recognizes an employee who has been nominated by a co-worker for an action or set of actions that embodies the company’s core values.

We received an email from a concerned developer client. He said that a contractor’s supplier had run over an area of sod and put large wheel ruts in a resident’s lawn. The email was forwarded to me, but I was in the field and did not immediately see it. Leslie, who was also included on the email, could tell from the tone of the email that the client was upset and she took immediate action to personally call me rather than letting me find the email on my own.

Due to Leslie’s quick action, the issue was resolved within 20 minutes of receiving the initial email. Our on-site observer contacted both the resident and the contractor. The contractor committed to performing the required repairs. The developer personally called me and expressed how nice it was to have an immediate and productive response. Things like that go a long way.

This is a great example of how simple it is to go over and beyond each day. Leslie took ownership of a task to ensure that we provided excellent service to our customer. She simply picked up the phone and called Randy and kept calling until she got a hold of him. Randy was able to contact the contractor and get the issue resolved quickly. That’s Engineering Answers!
